or not to snow, that is the question every winter in St Louis. I am sure if you have ever discussed winter with me you have heard my theory that because we have a giagantic magnet(the Arch) at the convergence area of three rivers we are destined to never actually get snow.
I should clarify even more...by St Louis and we I don't actually mean St Louis as a whole I mean me, us~my family, my neighborhood, our neck of the woods only because there are parts of St Louis(north of the rivers) that routinely get snow. We don't. They will get an inch or two and we may get flurries if we're lucky! I guess that is what being further south does to you in that river weather pattern. Not that we are that much farther south mind you, we're talking the difference of 20-30 miles max....so we still get the bitter cold, just none of the snow.
It does seem that the major storms that are icy or snowy tend to go around St. Louis as a whole though. And yes it could be the jet stream except...it doesn't go around us with rain....just snow! So since they have been forecasting maybe 1-2 inches here I am expecting the ground to be barely covered and that is all:)
Please prove me wrong, PLEASE, nothing would make me happier than being wrong about this!
