missed one already. Not any good excuse for it, but a lesson learned! Want to know what it was?!?!?! Yes, no, maybe...well, I'm gonna tell ya anyway:) Always blog right away when you think of one!!!! If something else comes up later in the day...write about it and ..well...I'll figure that out later! But, to write it then and not wait for something better to come along...hmmm...that seems like such a simple lesson! And probably one I should have already known!
So that is what I learned and we'll call that my blog for today-:)
And here is my blog from yesterday...nothing big, just something that struck me at the time!
How do you know it is the first Monday of any given month? Well you know if you live in the Lou because of those wondrous sirens that go off. Now mind you, I think they are wonderful and I truly expect them when it is March, April, May, June and even July because well..it is tornado season then and that is their primary function and what they meant as far as drills as a kid, for me anyway. But see... the adult in me having watched apparently waaaaay too many war movies was jolted yesterday at precisely 11am when they went off and it being January and freeeeeeeeezing outside and no where near tornado season, with thoughts of , "Holy cow, what terrorist got a hold of one?!?!?!" Because in my mind for that instant....it was not a tornado warning siren but a siren of war and the end, and I was not happy about that. Fortunately I snapped right out of it and realized it was just the monthly warning siren and that was all. And I felt very lucky that all that siren had ever meant to me as a child was tornado(not that they aren't dangerous, because they truly are) preparedness and not preparing for a war....and I feel lucky that my kids only know that sound as the one I did too.
Of course now that begs the question of just what have I been watching and/or thinking that had me ready to label a warning siren as a harbinger of impending nuclear annihilation?!?!?!?
Anyhooo....getting ready to do some dancin' tomorrow~snow dancin' that is~as I don't particularly trust the forecasts around here:)
Blog ya later-
K
