I hope you all are enjoying the holiday and in our area the wonderful weather:) We will be going to see "Kit Kitridge-An American Girl" momentarily and then perhaps a local fireworks show. The girls have only seen one in person. Last year we went to the fireworks at Canon Dam at Mark Twain Lake where we have always spent the 4th with my family and last year was the first year they weren't crashed out from the days activities so they came with us and were amazed. We are also treated every year to a spectacular show in the neighborhood up there by an old family friend who's bday is the 5th and she goes all out every year and the girls so enjoy that too(Happy Bday Marti) but this year our plans have changed a bit.
We had planned on going up to the lake anyway but yesterday I didn't feel very well and I have been a bit nauseous since then with a headache and backache that seems to come and go. I am sure it is chemo related and it is not horrible, but I don't think I could stand driving for 3 hours and then not having my own bed to crash in. I hate being the party pooper. We are hoping the girls will be able to catch a ride up there with friends so they can still enjoy the festivities and hang out through the middle of next week so as not to be here for the chemo Monday.
However, I took the steri-strips off of the port yesterday and it is doing much better. It still is tender by the end of the day but I think the strips were pulling on it a lot more than I realized. I now have another lovely scar though. I know, I know, too vain. But look at it from my point of view....for years I injured myself in the most amazing ways over and over again(and no I'm not crazy, just clumsy) and only have one tiny tiny scar on my knee and that is from scraping it up when I was six! For all my broken knees, torn ligaments and mangled joints I never once got a scar....and now in the space of less than a month I have three!!!! And they are all in quite obvious places that can be seen unless I am wearing a turtleneck! Oh well...I know there are more to come but at least those will not be visible to most people.
Anyway...have a good one and enjoy because as the line from one of my favourite 4th movies goes, "Today we celebrate our Independence!" Chokes me up every time..and its not that kind of movie:P
Enjoy your 4th-
Blog ya later-

I know the movie, one of my favorites! We went to see K, R, MSea and Aunt M in CR yesterday, had a wonderful time swimming at the club and hanging out at their house afterward. E, N and kids left today to go back to OH. We had a great visit but today I am a sad nana. Too much quiet and I hate the putting away. Jboats
As for the scars... just tell them you got bit by a vampire with one fang. :D
Happy 4th!
