Well....I am back from sunny Florida. And it was wuuuuuuuuuuuunderful. I so very much needed it. Granted it was a tad windy(sustained20-25 mph winds with gusts up to 40) but it was warm and once the front passed through on Wed....well Thursday was magnificent, I could have stayed for weeks. Alas we had to come home....to all heck breaking loose!!!
As it was, we live in the area where flooding had cut off the roads to our house. Granted there were other ways to get in but...at one point Friday, as we were driving through Alabama, our neighbor called and said they were thinking of closing yet another road in and we may not be able to get to the house it was surreal. Fortunately they didn't have to close it. And even more fortunate was the fact that our basement which flooded every time it rained last spring and summer, miraculously had no water come in to it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We could hardly believe our good luck, but were incredibly thankful as that was the last thing I wanted to deal with after driving for 13 hours. And I do mean 13 hours that I drove as hubby had thrown out his back Wed. and could not sit in that position! Again, fortunately...I LOOOOOVE to drive, in fact I prefer to drive...kind of a control thing I suppose:)
So anyway, we kind of got reorientated on Sat., dyed Easter eggs with the minis and also went to the cliffs to look at the flooding, which was/is insane since the northern melt has yet to begin! This is going to be an interesting spring. Also the fact that we woke up Easter morning to snow!!!!!! Now you all know I love winter but c'mon.....it was technically officially spring and it was Easter for goodness sake!
Oh well....at least the minis are back in school now and aside from the fact that my oldest turns nine on Friday(egads!) and I will be supervising a giggling gaggle of third graders overnight then...plus several other activities this week and every week from now until the end of school...it would appear as if my life is finally getting back some semblance of normalcy....or at least as normal as it ever gets for me:P
Hope you all have had a nice March so far and no one has been too badly affected by the floods.
Blog ya later-

I was begining to think the floods had taken you down the Mighty Mississippi. :))
My family was in the Chicago burbs last weekend and they got 10 inches of snow... Mother Nature is high on something this year...
